Grant Writing Development Manager

   The Grant Writing Development Manager is responsible for grant research, preparation of grant proposals and follow-up reporting for awarded grants and donor relations.​

  • Research and identify possible funding sources in cooperation with all pertinent employees; prepare and submit foundation, corporate, and government grant requests and proposals.

  • Conduct targeted research on the availability of private and government funds.

  • Solicit and secure donations through efficient and compelling written, verbal, and in-person visits.

  • Work with board members and other staff to develop relationships with current and potential donors

  • Review the giving history of prospects in order to recommend appropriate solicitation levels.

  • Collaborate with staff to identify prospects for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of upper-level annual gifts.

  • Determine who needs to be involved in the relationship with the prospective donor and ensure more than one point of contact for the relationship exists.

  • Prepare, submit, and maintain timely interim reports, final reports, and any other necessary requirements to funders.

  • Proactively identify new or previously untapped potential funding sources.

  • Collaborate closely with the program staff to develop proposal goals with the Finance/CEO for budget preparation.

  • Serve as an advocate for the mission and programs of the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank throughout its service area.

  • Represent the Food Bank and its programs in meetings, site visits, and phone conversations with foundation, corporate, and government representatives.

  • Routinely solicit individuals and organizations to become advocates, volunteers and donors thru the scheduling of facility tours.

  • Maintain ongoing relationships with existing donors through periodic visits, thank you letters, and recognition awards and encourage participation in food bank events whenever possible.

  • Assist other inter-office departments with events as needed.

Warehouse Associate

  • The Warehouse Associate will accurately and thoroughly fulfill inventory order requests according to established guidelines and the appropriate “pick” sheet.

  • Utilize conscientious and safe handling of all warehouse material handling equipment including pallet jacks, hand dollies and forklift in order to avoid personal injury to self, others and damage to product, equipment or facility.

  • Remain knowledgeable of current inventory and inventory levels.  Performs monthly inventory count, as instructed, by physically counting and accurately recording product quantity and type, notifying manager immediately of discrepancies or problems.

  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area at all times including warehouse, grounds, bins and equipment; cleans up spills immediately; keeps walk areas and exits clear; locks and secures equipment and facility as required; notifies manager of problems or needed repairs immediately.

  • Demonstrates professionalism and speaks respectfully when interacting with staff, volunteers and the general public.

  • May perform other duties as assigned such as but not limited to pest control, furniture moving, helping with deliveries, etc.
