Volunteer’s Mission Is Simple: Helping People

Updated: Dec 7, 2018

Jacob Faulkner, ready to help deliver produce to those in need!

Jacob Faulkner is a man of few words, but the work he does weekly for Wichita Falls Area Food Bank speaks volumes about his dedication to serving his community.

Rain or shine, Jacob has traveled each week since 2014 with one of the Food Bank’s two Produce Express trucks. The trucks deliver fresh produce to hungry neighbors and travel to a different county each week.

And Jacob says he returns each week to make deliveries for one simple reason: “To help people who don’t have enough food.”

Finding food continues to be a struggle for nearly 42,000 people in our 12–county service area. Volunteers like Jacob play a critical role in making sure nutritious food is delivered to those who need it most.

“It’s a good way to make sure our community is a better place,” Jacob says.

We couldn’t be more grateful that Jacob’s a part of the Food Bank’s team. Thank you, Jacob, for giving your time and energy so hungry neighbors have food on their tables. You really do make our community a better place to call home.
